                  HOW THE PROCESS WORKS

Upon successful completion of the Law Enforcement Council's Regional Entry WRITTEN examination, your scores will be forwarded to the participating departments of your choice.  Your scores are good for one year. 

Upon hearing from a department, you will be required to pass a physical assessment examination consisting of a mile and a half run, sit ups, flex and bench press.  (see page 6 of the application packet). 

You will then sit for an oral panel consisting of police officers that will evaluate you based on questions asked by the panel.

If you continue to be in the department's process, the following will be required:















Successful candidates will be required to attend the Police Officers Standards and Training Council Academy (POSTC) in Meriden, Connecticut, for basic training to become a police officer.  This training is approximately 17 weeks long.
