Qualifications to Become a Police Officer in Connecticut
Please review the following qualifications for a Police Officer position. You must meet ALL requirements in order to be considered.
Candidates must:
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Be 21 years or older
- Be a citizen of the United States
- Have a valid Motor Vehicle Operator license
- Have absolutely NO felony, domestic violence, class A misdemeanor, or class B misdemeanor convictions
- Pass an extensive background investigation including personal history, motor vehicle law convictions, and a polygraph examination
- Pass a psychological examination
- Pass a controlled substance screening
