Sit-Up

Muscular endurance – the score is the number of bent-leg sit-ups performed in one minute. Your feet are held with your fingers interlocked behind your head.  Elbows must tough the knees in the up position and the back must touch the floor in the down position.

300 Meter Run

This test measures the sprinting ability, which is highly predictive of job task performance.

Push-Up

Upper body strength - The test starts from the up position (elbows fully extended). Back must be straight and flat at all times. (Head up ensures flatter back). The subject will lower their body to the floor until their chest touches the administrators fist or acceptable measuring tool at a depth of no less than 4 inches from the floor, and then return to the up position. This is one repetition. Resting should only be done in the up position. The total number of correct push ups in one minute is recorded as the score.

1.5 Mile Run

Cardiovascular capacity – This is a timed run to measure the heart and vascular systems capability to transport oxygen (cardiovascular endurance).  The test involves a timed completion of a 1.5 mile run.  Applicants are permitted to run, jog and/or walk to complete the 1.5 mile distance (it should be noted, however, that this event can not be passed if applicants walk all or most of the distance).  The score is the number of minutes and seconds needed to complete the 1.5 mile run.
